Brendan has a Bachelor of Business Studies with majors in Accounting and Marketing. He is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and holds a current certificate of public practice. Brendan started working at Business Like in late 2013 and was appointed as a partner on the 1st of April 2017. He works with a wide range of clients in trades, manufacturing, technology, financial services as well as high net worth individuals. He is passionate about helping business owners achieve their business and related goals. A keen fisherman and brewer, Brendan can be found sampling his own beer creations in the weekends after a day with his young family.
Vinh Nguyen
Partner
Vinh is a Chartered Accountant (CA) with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Commercial Law. With over 15 years of experience working in CA Firms, Vinh brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the areas of business advisory, compliance and taxation. As an experienced client manager, Vinh’s focus is on fostering and maintaining strong client relationships. Vinh has two young children and enjoys travelling and going to live music events.
Rachel Darlington
Rachel is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, she also holds a current certificate of public practice. Rachel completed a Bachelor of Commerce Degree at Auckland University and a postgraduate diploma in Professional Accounting at Manukau Institute of Technology. She began her accounting career in the corporate arena working for a merchant banking firm – Bankers Trust for approximately ten years. Rachel joined Business Like in 2008. In 2009 Rachel Lamb and Rachel Darlington joined forces to create Business Like NZ Ltd. With Rachel Lamb departing in 2014, Rachel Darlington teamed up with Brendan and they have continued to grow Business Like NZ Ltd and added Vinh as a Partner. Rachel has a farm in Ardmore where she can be found most weekends tending to the land or her ever-growing menagerie of animals.
Michelle Adlington
Accountant
Michelle is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) and a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Michelle completed a Diploma in Business at Manukau Institute of Technology specialising in Accountancy. She worked at Giles & Liew Chartered Accountants Ltd for eight years before joining Business Like in January 2008. Michelle has two gorgeous daughters that keep her busy outside of Business Like NZ Ltd. She also enjoys traveling and is slowly making her way around the world.
Nileshni Prasad
Accountant
Nileshni is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. She graduated with a Bachelor of Business Studies at the Manukau Institute of Technology. She began her career working in the Business Advisory Services Department at Deloitte Touché Tohmatsu in Fiji before joining Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants also in Fiji. Nileshni joined Business Like in May 2005. She is married and has two beautiful kids.
Carolyn Milliken
GST Specialist
Carolyn joined Business Like in August 2014. Carolyn brings with her a wealth of experience in business administration from across several industries. Carolyn enjoys travelling and spending time with her adult children and granddaughter.
Debbie Ngawaka
Office Manager
Debbie joined Business Like in 2009 as an Office Administrator working her way up to Office Manger when Pauline retired at the end of 2012. Debbie is the smile that greets you at reception and the friendly voice on the end of the phone. Debbie will happily assist you with any queries you may have or direct you to the person that can help. Debbie keeps a tight rein on both the clients and staff at Business Like NZ Ltd. Debbie is the proud Mum to 5 grown up children, and even prouder Nan to 3 beautiful grandchildren. Quality family time, socializing and spending time with her pet dogs keeps her busy outside of work.
Shivashna Kumar
Assistant Accountant
Shivashna joined Business Like in May 2022 and has been assisting the accounting team in the preparation of financial statements and tax returns. She is also involved in payroll processing, PAYE and GST return preparation. Shivashna completed a Bachelor of Business at Auckland University of Technology majoring in Accounting. In the future, she is planning on completing her Chartered Accountants qualifications. Outside of work, Shivashna enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends. She has travelled to many parts of New Zealand and has her eye on some overseas travel in the future.
Pauline Clancy
Credit Controller
Pauline is one of the founding partners of Business Like. Pauline has now semi retired but works from home assisting us with credit control.
